Continental Divide Trail Alliance
Since 1995, the Continental Divide Trail Alliance has played a central role in the completion, management, and protection of the "King of Trails."
When complete, the CDT will be the most significant trail system in the world. Stretching 3,100 miles along the backbone of America from Canada to Mexico, it accesses some of the most wild and scenic places in the Rocky Mountain West while conserving the environment and offering a primitive backcountry experience.
Increasing pressures from development in the West, rising land costs, and decreases in federal funding have threatened completion of the trail and its passage through unique and scenic ecosystems.
The CDTA's nearly 3,000 members work to increase public involvement, volunteer commitment and private sector support on the trail. To date this grassroots movement has made a tremendous impact: nearly 7,000 volunteers have their time and labor, almost $14 million has been pledged towards the effort, and more than 1,275 miles of trail have been completed..
We are proud to have sponsored the Continental Divide Trail Alliance over the years, and we are especially proud to be honored with the CTDA's 2006 Corporate Award, which recognizes a company that has committed significant time and resources to the completion and protection of the trail.
