One Warm Coat
One Warm Coat's mission is to ensure that anyone who needs a coat has one. Providing this simple, yet vital, service helps people live productive lives year round.
The non-profit group helps individuals, groups, companies and organizations across the country collect coats and deliver them to local agencies that distribute them free, to people in need.
One Warm Coat was started in 1992 by Lois Pavlow, a concerned citizen of San Francisco, who found herself with a coat that she wanted to donate to a person truly in need of a warm coat for the winter. Lois did not want to have the coat pass through an agency where a person would pay for the coat - she wanted it provided free.
Her dream is that One Warm Coat becomes a part of the American lifestyle. When a coat is no longer needed, people will think of One Warm Coat and make their donation knowing that children, women, and men in need will receive a gift of a free warm coat.
Donated outerwear is never resold; it is distributed directly to children and adults in the local community who are in need of a jacket, gloves, hat or footwear.
We are proud to sponsor the efforts of One Warm Coat.
