Since founding the company in 1958, Bill Gore emphasized the importance of purpose and applying technology to have a meaningful impact on society.
Gore is one of a select few companies to appear on all US “100 Best Companies to Work For” lists since the rankings debuted in 1984. The company also appears regularly on similar lists around the world.
As a reflection of our employees’ commitment, they’ve initiated volunteer efforts, including money raised through the Bike to Work initiative and the support of the Mountain Forest Project in the Bavarian Alps.
In order to help children and young people live a better life, in early 2020 the Gore Fabrics Division, maker of GORE-TEX products, joined the global network of grantee partners of the Laureus Sport for Good Foundation.
Founded under the Patronage of Nelson Mandela, Laureus Sport for Good uses sport as a powerful and cost-effective tool to help children and young people overcome violence, discrimination and disadvantage in their lives.
Over the past 20 years the foundation has raised more than 150 million Euros and, together with its partners, reached and helped change the lives of almost 6 million children. Currently, it supports more than 200 programs in over 40 countries that use the power of sport to transform lives.
As its initial pilot project, the GORE-TEX brand is sponsoring the Laureus teams in Austria and Germany and thus will help to improve the life of many children through the power of sports.
