    During this challenging time our hearts go out to everyone impacted by COVID-19. At Gore our focus continues to be on the health, safety and well-being of our Associates, customers, communities and of course you. To learn more about what W.L. Gore & Associates is doing across the Enterprise regarding COVID-19, please read this letter from Gore Enterprise Leadership. We know that we are all in this together.

    We would be remiss if we did not also take this opportunity to acknowledge the health care workers, first responders and workers at essential businesses that are continuing to serve our communities during this time. They are truly heroes, and we sincerely thank them.

    Many of you have been inquiring as to whether or not GORE-TEX products can be effectively used as Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) items to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Gore would like to emphasize that while GORE-TEX products are engineered to protect you against many weather conditions, they ARE NOT engineered to protect against COVID-19, including use in products such as face masks.     Some of you have also contacted Gore with concerns about GORE-TEX garments possibly being exposed to COVID-19. If you are worried about your garments due to the virus, or wish to be extra diligent about cleaning your products during this time, we suggest you follow the manufacturers’ recommendations. Please also follow any applicable health and safety guidelines in your country.     In an effort to do our part to support our communities, Gore is actively exploring meaningful ways in which our scientific expertise and production capacity can be used to contribute to both short and long-term solutions in the fight against COVID-19.
