    How it works

    System to keep up the breathability

    Due to constant water or snow covering the surface, some outerwear loses breathability in prolonged, heavy rain or wet snow. Not so if GORE-TEX performance products are used. A complete system consisting of a specially processed membrane, selected low-water-absorbing face textiles - densely woven with only tiny surface gaps, where water hardly can be collected - and the GORE® durable water repellent treatment on the surface optimize outerwear to stay very breathable —even after frequent use and wash.

    Outerwear engineered with GORE-TEX performance products are made with solid outer face textiles that are more resistant to abrasion, scrapes and tears. Proven in Gore's extensive field testing these provide long-lasting protection for outdoor and snowsport enthusiasts to rely on.

    3-Layer or 2-Layer

    GORE-TEX performance garments come as 3-layer or 2-layer construction. The 3-layer construction directly bonds a specially selected backer material to the membrane, protecting it from the inside and improving your wearing comfort. Whereas a 2-layer construction adds an insulated fabric suspended freely between the 2 layers of outer face textile and GORE-TEX membrane and the inner lining. That provides increased warmth, so you can stay out longer.

    GORE-TEX STRETCH TECHNOLOGY

    Some GORE-TEX garments include GORE-TEX stretch technology. Whether you're racing to the summit on a hike or taking a swing with your 7 iron, you want a jacket that moves with you and doesn't restrict your movement.

    Thanks to the stretch materials integrated into key areas, GORE-TEX garments with stretch technology are designed for ease of movement and an attractive fit.
