Welcome to the 12th edition of the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy in Chamonix
While Chamonix is the undisputed capital of the mountaineering world, the Arc'teryx Alpine Academy is quite simply the best event of its kind, and for a few days from June 29 – July 2, 2023 the epicentre of mountain sports.
It is going to be 12th edition of the Arc’teryx Alpine Academy in Chamonix, and we at Gore are proud to be part of this epic event as presenting partner from the very beginning.
GORE-TEX Brand and Arc’teryx: Partners since 1995
Arc’teryx and the GORE‑TEX brand have been partners since the iconic Alpha SV jacket entered development at the Canadian brand’s headquarters in North Vancouver. Arc’teryx hunted for the bleeding edge in waterproofing for their mountaineering jackets in 1995, it didn’t take long for them to land on GORE-TEX product technology as the obvious choice. This loyal partnership continues to this day.
Education and inspiration with a community of mountain enthusiasts
Arc’teryx Academies are skills-focused, guide-led clinics that enable and inspire participants to engage in the sports Arc’teryx designs products for. The clinic program has an expanded offering with more than 80 different clinics for all skill levels, fitness and for all budgets, across mountaineering, climbing, hiking, trail running, and many more.
A full-blown mountain culture festival
The Alpine Village returns to Place du Triangle de l'Amitié and among other things, visitors will have the chance to test the latest Arc'teryx gear, get hands on in upcycling workshops, watch world film premieres, and to take on the bouldering wall along with the pros.
Music always plays a major role at the Alpine Academy and 2023 will deliver even more. From rhythmic sounds and beats while experiencing the Alpine Village, vibing with thousands of other music lovers or dancing into the small hours of the night the Alpine Academy has it covered with top tunes from inspirational artists in amazing settings.
Bring your GORE-TEX gear for free repairs
You probably have it too, the once favorite jacket that has been rendered useless thanks to a broken zip, or the once waterproof trousers that struggle to cope under a deluge as the seam tape has failed. Stop by and take the opportunity for instant on-site GORE-TEX garments repairs – completely free of charge– over the course of the whole academy.
We want to encourage you to love your gear for longer and extend the life of GORE-TEX products by using proper wash, care and repair methods.
