    Converse was founded in 1908, originally named the Converse Rubber Shoe Company, the brand introduced its now famous All-Star basketball shoe (originally named the Non-Skid) in 1917. With the introduction of this shoe, the brand would stake its claim as a brand on two materials: rubber and canvas. Shortly after in 1923, the brand hired Charles H. "Chuck" Taylor as a salesman and ambassador, and in 1934 the shoe was officially given a name which still stands today - “Chuck Taylor All Star.” While Converse’s trajectory in basketball and culture is well known through the story of the Chuck Taylor All Star, the brand also has a heritage in utility products harking back to WWII and the shift of U.S. manufacturing, where Converse continued to offer its expertise in rubber through products that protected the troops on the front lines and against extreme temperatures.

    Today, Converse works closely with the GORE-TEX brand to ensure best-in-class waterproofing informed by its utility heritage and iconic Chuck Taylor All Star design language but modernized for exploration on city streets.

    Initially debuted alongside London-based technical-clothing brand A-COLD-WALL*, the Converse Chuck Taylor Storm Boot is all-weather design, engineered through a utilitarian lens and ready to take on the environment.

    For the upper, a GORE-TEX bootie within is bolstered by a cozy, micro-fleece liner, all saddled on a lugged outsole and wraparound rubber details that shield the high-top silhouette.

    GORE-TEX technologies have enabled Converse to push the boundaries of our design and deliver functional, weatherized benefits.
