    LI-NING DOUBLES DOWN ITS WATERPROOF OFFERINGS WITH THE TITAN AND WUXING SNEAKERS

    A LEADING NAME IN CHINESE SPORTSWEAR

    Considered to be a pioneering force in the Chinese sportswear industry, the eponymously named brand is monikered after founder Li Ning, an Olympian gymnast who became a national hero after he won six gold medals at the 1984 Summer Olympics. This accomplishment earned him the title “Prince of Gymnastics.”

    LI-NING TITAN

    The Li-Ning Titan is not a conventional-looking sneaker. The decoupled sole unit is saddled with an outdoor-inspired upper, adorned with rope lace embellishments and other references to outdoor equipment. A mountain-range silhouette decorates the heel unit.

    WEAR-TESTED IN THE MOUNTAINS

    Li-Ning research staff wear-tested the Titan sneaker in real conditions by ascending Mount Gongga, a peak that is known to locals as "The King of Sichuan Mountains” thanks to its 7,500-metre elevation.

    LI-NING WUXING 

    The design of the Li-Ning Wuxing originates from street-basketball footwear, but ushered into the future with details like a functional fast-lacing system, hefty rubber outsole traction, and GORE-TEX waterproof membrane.

    THE IMPORTANCE OF FUNCTION 

    “The waterproof functionality not only completes our design, it also helps our product to be more pragmatic,” notes Yan Yan, designer of Wuxing.

    LI-NING GOES GLOBAL

    In recent years, Li-Ning has started expanding far outside its home of China, and foraying into international markets. Li-Ning has hosted presentations at events like Paris Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week, where the brand has showcased new collaborations and fashion-oriented products. Subsequently, Li-Ning has garnered international attention for its eye-catching footwear designs.
